Everyone hates to go through TSA security at US airports. TSA is beta testing the pre screening program called TSA PRE (Check). Once you registered, and proved by TSA that you are safe. Right now, only Delta and American Airlines are the ones participating to this pilot program at the limited airports as shown here, but United Airlines will be joining them by the end of 3rd quater, 2012.

Some passengers could qualify for expedited screening through U.S. airport security checkpoints via designated screening lanes. Additional potential benefits may include:

Keeping shoes on
Keeping 3-1-1 compliant bag in carry-on
Leaving laptop in bag
Leaving on light outerwear/jacket
Leaving belt on
At no point, however, is this program an entitlement. Passengers are always subject to random, unpredictable screening measures.

Between March 2nd and March 4th, we have attended New York Times Travel Show at Javits Center in New York City. Japan Exhibit booth was jointly operated by Japan National Tourism Organization, Japan Local Government Center and other travel organizations.
It was very succesful for Japanese tourism despite looking at one year anniversary of Tsunami/Earthquake disaster hit Tohoku area in March 2011.

今年もニューヨークタイムズトラベルショーがニューヨーク市のジャービッツセンターにて3月2日から3月4日にわたって行われました。ジャパンブースは日本政府観光局、自治体国際化協会、その他の旅行関連会社によって共同運営されました。一年前の3月11日東北大震災を迎えてのトラベルショーでしたが、日本を観光地として紹介する場としては大成功でした。写真は鎧を着ての記念撮影です。







NY TIMES TRAVEL SHOW 2012

United Airines has been processing the integration from Continental Airlines to United Airlines. They have announced that the Continental flight number will entirely become the United flight number, and their airline code will be integrated into "016" from "005".
In March, we will be instructed to exchnage your current Continental Airlines' ticket to United Airlines' at no cost to you. Detail instruction will be explained to us soon for other situation such as how to process past date unused non-refundable Continental tickets etc.

ユナイテッド航空は今コンチネンタル航空との統合準備を進めております。コンチネンタル航空のフライト番号をユナイテッド航空のフライト番号に、またエアラインコードの００５はなくなり０１６に統一されます。

If you are planniing to travel in Japan, you can not ignor the advantage of Japan Rail Pass. One big advantage is savings. For example, it will pay off by just going from Tokyo to Kyoto round trip by Bullet trains.
